IT Support

GENERAL SUMMARY:  Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing computers and networks.  Ensure adequate IT infrastructure is in place and is used to its maximum capabilities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up hardware and installing and configure software and drivers.
  • Maintaining and repairing technological equipment (e.g. routers) or peripheral devices, PC’s, iPads, iPhones.
  • Installing well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs etc.).
  • Support technology for Lime Spreaders and crushing automation.
  • Support company security and communication infrastructure through device management, repair, and replacement schedules.
  • Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks.
  • Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated.
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality.
  • Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies.
  • Keep detailed procedural documentation and records of repairs and fixes for future reference.
  • Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly.
  • Work with team members in the office and in the field to identify efficiency bottlenecks and coordinate with solutions to optimize productivity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cross train in and support company utilized software suites.
  • Follow all company, local, state and federal safety standards.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:  BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field OR 3 years’ experience as IT Support or similar role. Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+).  Experience with LAN/WAN networks, thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT Components preferred. Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles. Skills include excellent troubleshooting, time management, good communication skills, prioritization and problem-solving skills. 

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:  Ability to lift at least 15-20 pounds. Also requires occasional bending, twisting, squatting and crouching.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Work areas are exposed to all elements of weather, loud noise, dusty conditions, uneven ground and electrical hazards. Also, exposure to chemicals and heavy moving machinery.

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS REQUIRED:  Standard office setting, some exposure to dust. Requires some travel to outlying quarries for onsite installations, repairs, troubleshooting, etc. and exposed to loud noise and dusty conditions.
